A Few Wardrobe Tips For Mums-To-Be

Many fashion-conscious women believe that pregnancy brings plenty of new beauty and style challenges. Some find it difficult to choose well-fitting maternity jeans whereas others have trouble selecting a skirt of proper length and size to look stunning and accommodate the quickly growing baby bump at the same time. Here is a list of wardrobe ideas that could make your mornings less stressful:

•    Ensure your wardrobe contains the essentials. Instead of looking for big patterns and bright colours, concentrate on basic pieces of clothing in darker colours for maximum versatility.  They should be neutral in colour to go well with lots of other items. Black, brown and navy can be mixed and matched perfectly with nearly all colours.

•    Go for a blazer. You can wear your fitted jackets throughout the nine months simply undoing a few buttons each time your belly gets a few centimetres bigger. If you can no longer squeeze into your favourite jacket, buy a maternity blazer without buttons or zips to drape it over the bump.

•    Well-fitting trousers. You may opt for classical maternity jeans, trousers and Capris with a low stretchy front panel that adjusts fitting your body shapes and providing maximum comfort. A truly great pair of jeans should incorporate well into a casual look as well as a great-looking outfit for a night on the town. Stylish maternity jeans, trousers and Capris could be worn with a classical shirt or a trendy tank and a blazer on top.

•    The right shirts. Although you may be fond of wearing T-shirts under a blazer, investing into a stylish tunic blouse could be a good idea. Shirts featuring collars may help accentuate your collarbone and make your neck look longer.

•    Choosing a skirt. Skirts with low adjustable waistbands could be the best clothing option as they allow you to feel comfortable and adjust easily to fit your belly. Choose knee-length or a bit shorter skirts for a more elegant look. Mini-skirts could make you feel uncomfortable, while longer ones may cause you to look shorter than you really are.

•    Dresses are must-haves. There is nothing trendier for a party than a sleeveless A-line dress flattering the body curves or a strapless dress accentuating your bust line and creating a great feminine look. You may also wear stylish maternity dresses with a jacket for work.

•    Footwear. When it comes to shoes, you don’t need to sacrifice fashion for comfort. More designers are focusing on trendy footwear to provide extra balance and support for expectant mothers. Flats and low heel shoes might be a great alternative to high heels. They commonly look great with maternity jeans, shorts and trousers as well as go well with skirts and dresses. If you insist on wearing high heels for a special occasion, go for shoes with thicker heels for maximum support.

•    Be playful with accessories. Make a string of beads, a fashion watch, a pair of earrings, a scarf or a bag an essential part of your outfit. Using accessories to create a stunning look out of your basic wardrobe could be easy and fun.

•    Add a finishing touch. Be it a casual outfit comprising great-fitting maternity jeans and a stylish top or a little black dress for a night out, remember to complete your ensemble with great make-up and a stylish hair-do appropriate for the occasion.
